  As we plan each year for this event, we are frequently asked what sets the Breast Center apart from other similar facilities. The answer is simple: No other facility in central New Jersey provides a total comprehensive approach to breast care, delivered by a multidisciplinary team of physicians and health professionals representing many medical disciplines. These professionals work together to provide women, and men, too, with a full range of services, including diagnostic testing, treatment, surgical, medical, psychosocial support, education and rehabilitation services.

The Breast Center has recently been awarded three prestigious honors including: “Top Five Women’s Imaging Centers for 2010” for its “achievements in innovation, operational efficiency, customer service and teamwork” from Imaging Technology News; a three-year full accreditation designation for “providing the highest quality evaluation and management of patients with breast disease” from NAPBC (National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers); and it is the first facility in New Jersey and tenth in the nation to receive “Certified Quality Breast Center” accreditation from the (NQMBC) National Quality Measures for Breast Centers.  The Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center is the only accredited facility in Monmouth and Ocean Counties to have received national acknowledgement from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers along with being selected by Imaging Technology News as one of the nations “Top Women’s Imaging Center to watch in 2010.”

The progress of the Breast Center would not be possible without fundraising and private donations.  This year’s event will raise the capital to: 1. upgrade the computer and device (CAD) software, 2. install automatic breast ultrasound software and probe for automatic whole breast ultrasound program, 3.  install the newest software (Volpara) to measure breast density, and 4. continue funding the Medical-Surgical Research Analyst.
